Position Overview:
seeking a School Psychologist for the Middle School to provide leadership and expertise in supporting students' academic development, executive functioning, and behavioral needs. This role is a key member of the Middle School Student Services Team, collaborating closely with administrators, school counselors, faculty, and families to ensure student success.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher in School Psychology
Minimum of five years of experience as a School Psychologist
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, parents, and external professionals
Ability to work independently and within a team
Commitment to professional and ethical standards, including confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
Student Support and Program Leadership
Lead support initiatives for academic, executive functioning, and behavioral needs
Facilitate Student Support Team (SST) meetings and problem-solving processes
Conduct classroom observations and provide instructional feedback to teachers
Monitor student progress and communicate with families
Design, implement, and monitor interventions
Interpret psycho-educational evaluations and support implementation of recommendations
Provide one-on-one executive functioning support as needed
Conduct reading and writing screenings
Assist teachers with rating scales and create learning profiles, accommodation plans, and psycho-educational summaries
Collaborate with outside professionals and make appropriate referrals
Admissions Support
Assist the Director of Admissions with student evaluations and observations
Conduct academic testing and provide recommendations regarding student placement and support
Assessment and Testing
Collaborate on school-wide standardized testing administration
Student Records and Systems Management
Maintain accurate student records in Veracross, including evaluations, profiles, referrals, and recommendations
Collaboration and Consultation
Work closely with counselors, faculty, parents, and outside professionals to meet student needs
Provide educational consultation and support faculty professional development
Professional Development and School Initiatives
Support faculty training and school-wide programming as directed
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
