Position Summary

The Data Operations and Technology unit, within the Center for Health Information and Analysis, is looking to hire a skilled ETL developer to work with the ETL Development team to create new and maintain existing ETL systems. The developer's duties will include coding data preparation, analysis, and reporting jobs, performing technical troubleshooting, and providing technical expertise for ETL systems. The developer will work with multiple database technologies, and scripting languages. The developer will work with our group and become a critical part of the team

Responsibilities

The ETL Developer is a key member of software development within CHIA's organization and our Data Operations and Technology team, reporting to the Associate Director of Master Data Management and ETL Design. As a member of this team, the ETL Developer responsibilities will include the following :

• Design and implement ETL for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, including databases and flat files.
• Collaborate with major stakeholders in the organization to understand project requirements and design / deliver high quality solutions.
• Design and develop required database tables using Snowflake, PostGreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.
• Collaborate with team members to understand source system structures and data retrieval methods / techniques, and tools within the organization.
• Lead the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages like SQL, Bash, Python, etc.
• Clean, validate, and transform data to conform to target schema and quality standards.
• Work with the team to execute data quality improvement plans.
• Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain data integrity and process efficiency.
• Mentor and lead junior developers.
