The City of Salem Police Department is seeking candidates for the position of Police Officer. The salary range for this position is $39.11 - $51.42 hourly. The position is located at 333 Division Street NE, Salem, OR.

The minimum qualifications for this position include being at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen or able to become one within 18 months of hire, passing competitive testing including physical fitness, reading comprehension, writing skills, and background investigation, passing a pre-employment drug test, and meeting Oregon's minimum standards to work as a law enforcement officer. Additional requirements include the ability to complete departmental recruit training and possess a valid Oregon driver's license.

Disqualifiers include felony convictions, convictions for crimes involving domestic violence, dishonorable discharge from any branch of military service, and more than three traffic convictions in the last three years.
