Cyto Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Cytotechnologist to join an anatomic pathology laboratory within an oncology-focused environment that also supports a broad diagnostic patient population. This role primarily serves adult and geriatric patients and offers a stable weekday schedule with no routine call weekends or floating.

Position Overview

The Cytotechnologist will perform diagnostic cytology testing assist with on-site procedures and provide preliminary evaluations in collaboration with pathologists and clinical teams. Work is conducted in both inpatient and outpatient laboratory settings.

Required Qualifications

• ASCP-certified Cytotechnologist (CT)
• Active California Cytotechnologist license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 3 years of experience (5 years preferred)
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic documentation systems

Required Skills & Experience

• ROSE (Rapid On-Site Evaluation) for Thyroid Fine Needle Aspirations
• EBUS and EUS procedural support
• Fine Needle Aspirations:
  • Assisting with procedures
  • Specimen collection
  • Smear preparation
  • Preliminary diagnosis
• Cytology specimen handling and evaluation including:
  • Ascitic fluid
  • Urine
  • Bronchial specimens
  • Esophageal specimens
  • Gastric specimens
  • Spinal fluid
• Gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology
• Staining techniques including PAP
• Specimen labeling accessioning and identification
• Assisting with on-site procedures in:
  • Ultrasound-guided settings
  • Operating Room environments
• Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient laboratories

Preferred Skills

• ThinPrep
• GMS special stains
• PAP smear proficiency
