The Clerical Associate performs all clerical functions in support of the department as specifically indicated.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Clerical Associate at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Compiles and prepares records from various sources for inclusion in the patient record for billing.
• Files individual reports and other data for current and discharged patients.
• Maintains files system for patient records.
• Assists professional staff in retrieving essential patient or general information.
• Maintains and keeps office files current.
• Maintains accurate daily logs.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
• Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Compensation
Minimum rate of $18.30 Hourly

• Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.
• Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
