Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (18 : 30 - 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Setting : Adult patients, 37-bed unit

Orientation : 24 hours (includes online modules)

Weekend Coverage : Required (6 Fri / Sat / Sun shifts per schedule period for nights)

Floating : Required to other units

No On-Call Required

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Stepdown RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state; must be in-hand at submission)

Certifications : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS

Epic charting experience preferred

Trauma Level I experience preferred

Must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Ability to complete compliance requirements and drug testing prior to start

Facial hair must comply with CDC fit testing guidelines

Accepts first-time travel nurses

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit

Monitor and manage cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin drips (no titration required)

Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias

Perform blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, and phlebotomy

Care for patients with chest tubes, feeding tubes, and high-flow nasal cannula

Utilize Epic for electronic charting and documentation

Participate in rapid response / code teams as needed

Float to other nursing units as required

Support and mentor nursing students as part of the clinical team

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
