Structural Welder

Description

Schnabel is looking for a structural welder with piledriving experience to assist with the building of specialty underground structures. Your main responsibility will be cutting and welding structural steel on our projects. This would be for installation of piles, walers, handrail, and other applications.

As a structural welder you will either be part of a pile drivers / carpenters union or join one. You will be an integral part of our team on site and responsible for welding steel beams, steel plates, and other miscellaneous metals while performing basic piledriving duties.

Job Responsibilities

• Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Unloads and assembles pile driving hammer and leads.
• Unloads various types of piling- concrete, pipe, H-piling, timber, and steel sheet piling
• Fuels, lubricants, and maintains the pile driving hammer
• Uses oxygen / acetylene welding torch to cut steel plates, pipes, beams, etc.
• Prepares the piling to be driven and assists in positioning and driving piling
• Responsible for on-site structural welding that will be visually & X-ray inspected

Qualifications

Pay will be based on local union wage scales.
