MEDICAL ASSISTANT I

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain and record patient medical histories vitals test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Verify patient information by interviewing patient and confirming purpose of visit.
• Prepare notes for providers.
• Complete records by recording patient examination treatment and test results in the EMR.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure supplies are ready order more when necessary.
• Assist practitioners with medical procedures examinations and other patient care.
• Counsel patients by transmitting physicians orders and questions about procedures
• Educate patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answer questions.
• Coordinating the daily administrative activities including scheduling and patient medical record maintenance.
• Updating and scanning patients medical records filling out insurance forms handling correspondence scheduling appointments as necessary for medication refills.
• Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
