We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This position involves managing payroll processes, union reporting, and light human resources tasks for a small electric company. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction and union payroll, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an office environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payrolls using paper timecards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly union reports for four unions and submit them on time.
• Handle monthly and quarterly payroll tax reporting and payments.
• Manage certified and prevailing wage reporting to relevant authorities and fulfill other compliance requirements.
• Input and process new employee data into the payroll system.
• Administer weekly garnishments and maintain wage rates for bargaining and non-bargaining employees.
• Provide payroll-related data and reports for managers as needed.
• Maintain and update the payroll system to ensure functionality and accuracy.
• Assist with annual W-2 compilation and distribution.
• Perform accounts receivable duties, including invoice input, cash applications, and service job setup.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. Benefits available with this position include paid medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with a match and 15 days of paid vacation, 7 days of paid sick leave and 9 paid holidays per calendar year.
• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, preferably in construction or union environments.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll and union contracts.
• Proficiency in payroll systems such as Viewpoint Spectrum.
• Knowledge of certified and prevailing wage reporting requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
• Basic understanding of accounts receivable processes.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
