Job Title : Wormtown Taproom Server

Status : Full Time or Part Time

Reports to : Taproom Manager

Salary : $6.75 / hr + tips

JOB DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS

Big things are brewing on Shrewsbury Street at Wormtown Brewery! Our Wormtown taproom is getting a full glow-up, and were building a team ready to bring all that new energy to life! Were looking for hosts who bring the same spirit we put into our beer : fun, flavorful, a little quirky, and proudly rooted in Massachusetts.

As a Taproom Server, youll be one of the first faces guests interact with in our newly upgraded space. Youll guide guests through their experience, recommend fan favorites like Be Hoppy, introduce them to taproom-only releases, share brewery stories, and help create the warm, lively, community vibe that keeps people coming back.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service and Guest Experience

  • Ensure excellent customer service to provide an outstanding guest experience at all times.
  • Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage menu items, including new releases and seasonal offerings, to make informed recommendations.
  • Assist customers by taking and accurately processing food and beverage orders, including special attention to allergies, restrictions, and dietary preferences.
  • Answer and assist customers with questions, reservations, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer and handle credit card transactions efficiently.
  • Check patrons' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption.

    • Food and Beverage Operations

  • Assist in fulfilling beverage orders through the service bar, ensuring proper pour, glassware, and sizing.
  • Deliver complete and accurate orders to tables or the take-out counter promptly.
  • Change kegs as necessary.
  • Complete orders with retail beer and merchandise to go.

    • Cleanliness and Organization

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, especially in high-contact areas.
  • Sanitize high-touch point areas regularly.
  • Check and maintain bathroom cleanliness.
  • Follow inventory procedures to keep the front of house appropriately stocked.
  • Assist with general Beer Hall / Kitchen organization and cleanliness.
  • Ensure the taproom is well-stocked and organized.

    • Team Collaboration and Additional Responsibilities

  • Work closely with counter service and runners to ensure the accuracy of food and beverage orders.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager on expo.
  • Assist other front-of-house operators as needed.
  • Support the taproom team in maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down events.
  • Perform additional duties or responsibilities as needed to support the taproom and ensure a great guest experience.
  • Assist Taproom Manager with any additional duties, responsibilities and / or administrative tasks.

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • At least 1 year of prior serving or hospitality experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Takes pride in punctuality, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Available for days, nights, and weekend shifts of 5 hours or more; Saturday and / or Sunday availability required.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and comfortably bend, reach, and twist.
  • Willingness to continuously learn about our beer offerings and the craft beer industry (previous craft beer knowledge a plus!)
  • Knowledge of Toast POS or Grubhub (placing / receiving orders) is a plus.
  • TIPs certification required (or ability to obtain).
