Description : Position Summary :
The Cook is responsible for meal preparation and clean up.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Cook and complete all meals and food preparation.
- Distribute food on the serving line as needed.
- Stock food and supplies.
- Refill and restock supplies in the cafeteria area including coffee, napkins, utensils, etc.
- Answer questions for clients and employees.
- Wash all dishes, cooking utensils and equipment.
- Ensure all food preparation and serving areas are clean.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
General
Work as a member of the broader team of the Center to ensure a high level of service to our clients, including assisting with general housekeeping, kitchen duties and light maintenance.Other duties as assigned. This job description is subject to change at any time.Degree of Authority to Execute Responsibilities :
The Cook has the authority to complete all responsibilities of the role within policies and procedures, and in accordance with meals and menu planning determined by the Kitchen Supervisor. The Cook will defer to the Kitchen Supervisor for situations that are outside of the policies, procedures or established plans and menus.
Requirements : Qualifications :
High school diploma or GEDOne year previous cook experience preferredValid Driver’s LicensePhysical Requirements :
Frequently communicate with employees, parents, clients and other individuals with key relationships. This requires receiving and providing accurate information in writing or verbally, in these situations.Frequently lift equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height throughout the day.Frequently crouch, stoop or bend to retrieve necessary equipment and supplies.Frequently grasp items to prepare and cook meals, including spoons, knives, pans, etc.Stand tall enough to reach equipment and supplies in storage areas.Frequently stand for extended periods of time.
