VP of Engineering / CTO – AI & Robotics Startup (Stealth Mode)

Location: Hybrid (Remote + Onsite Prototyping) – U.S. Preferred
Compensation: $100K–$250K + Significant Equity

We are looking for a visionary VP of Engineering / CTO to lead our technical strategy and drive the development of our next-generation robotics platform.

The Role

As VP of Engineering / CTO, you will define the company’s technical vision, build and lead an elite engineering team, and spearhead the development of our AI-driven robotics stack. You will oversee both software and hardware engineering, ensuring our robotic systems are scalable, high-performing, and built for real-world industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning technology development with business objectives.
• Full Autonomy Stack Development: Lead R&D for autonomy, SLAM, localization, motion planning, and perception-driven robotics.
• AI & Robotics Integration: Oversee the development of AI-powered robot control systems, leveraging deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Software & Hardware Synergy: Ensure seamless integration between embedded AI, cloud computing, and robotics hardware.
• Scalability & Infrastructure: Architect a hybrid cloud-edge system for fleet coordination, real-time processing, and data security.
• Team Building & Culture: Recruit, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Cutting-Edge Research: Stay ahead of emerging AI, robotics, and automation trends, implementing innovative technologies into our platform.
• Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with industry leaders, research institutions, and technology providers to accelerate product development.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep Technical Expertise in Robotics & AI: Strong background in robotic autonomy, perception, and control systems.
• Hands-on Engineering & Leadership: Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
• Software & Embedded Systems Proficiency: Expertise in C++, Python, ROS2, CUDA, and AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Cloud & Edge Computing Experience: Knowledge of distributed systems, Kubernetes, Docker, and real-time robotics infrastructure.
• Startup & Scale-Up Experience: Ability to thrive in an early-stage, high-growth company, making strategic and tactical decisions.
• Industry Background: Experience in robotics, aerospace, AI research, or industrial automation; prior roles at NVIDIA, SpaceX, Amazon Robotics, Tesla Optimus, or similar is a plus.
• Advanced Degree Preferred: PhD or Master’s in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
