Position : Accounting Manager

Location : Sacramento, CA (Hybrid - on-site and regional travel required)

Schedule : Full Time, Exempt, 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Compensation : $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Summary :

We're seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager to join our Sacramento-based team. This role plays a key part in overseeing financial operations and supporting our growing portfolio of affordable housing communities. If you're a detail-oriented leader with a passion for community impact, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and mentor 1-3 accounting staff with weekly check-ins and annual reviews.
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance across 45 entities.
  • Manage accounts payable, vendor setup, and intercompany transactions.
  • Coordinate construction draws and cost certifications for LIHTC projects.
  • Post payroll and perform reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Support budgeting and intercompany cash flow projections.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless financial integration.
  • Recommend process improvements and uphold internal financial policies.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, audits, construction accounting, and nonprofit finance.
  • Experience with property management or affordable housing accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and initiative-driven approach.
  • Must successfully pass criminal, DOJ, and other background checks.
