Sr. EHS Specialist Shawnee, KS | Fully Onsite | This position will require 25% travel
Full-Time | Direct Hire | $95,000-$120,000 annually
LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client who is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior EHS Specialist to lead safety initiatives, drive compliance, and support the teams in building a strong safety culture. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about protecting people and the environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and provide guidance to leadership and operational teams.
- Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning.
- Manage EHS training programs, including development, scheduling, and documentation.
- Analyze EHS data and trends to recommend strategic improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sustainability, waste management, industrial hygiene, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Lead internal audits and support external regulatory inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5-8+ years of professional experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and safety best practices.
- Experience leading audits, investigations, and EHS projects.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHMM) preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
