Specification Writer - FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment)

Hours : 40 hours / week - Onsite in Miami

Rate : $38 - $42.00 / hr (rate will be determined upon experience)

Location : ONSITE (need to be located in Miami)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Specification Writer with a background in interior design to create detailed FF&E specifications for hospitality projects. The ideal candidate will be tech‑savvy, with expertise in specification software, and able to work collaboratively with architects, designers, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed written descriptions of FF&E components, including materials, finishes, vendors, quantities, and installation details

Ensure specifications meet project quality, durability, and functionality requirements

Track and manage project details, including vendor information, lead times, quantities, and costs

Collaborate with design teams to gather input and ensure comprehensive specifications

Leverage specialized software to organize projects, track data, and share spec packages with stakeholders

Reduce errors by providing precise information to contractors, suppliers, and installers

Importance of this Role

Ensures products align with project creative vision and standards

Provides long‑term record of materials used, simplifying future maintenance and renovations

Critical quality and risk control document for accurate project execution

Requirements

Interior design background with experience in FF&E specification writing

Proficiency in specification software (e.g. Procore, e-Builder, etc.)

Experience working on hospitality projects

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Tech‑savvy with ability to adapt to new software and systems
