Not RequiredCollins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Electric Power Systems – Power Distribution product group. This role offers high responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment and strong cross-collaboration with both software and hardware teams.
In this role, you will work closely with a geographically distributed team to define and developoptimalsystem architectures that balance technical performance with life-cycle cost. You willbe responsible fordefining,maintaining, documenting, and testing system requirements for secondary power distribution products.
What you Will Do
Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, including local and remote team members, to support full life-cycle development of electric power distribution systems, including planning, design, verification, certification, and qualification
Develop andoptimizeelectric power distribution system architectures that meet or exceed product development, performance, and life-cycle cost requirements
Define, manage, document, andmaintainsystem requirements throughout the product lifecycle for secondary power distribution products
Support certification activities in compliance with aerospace standards, with ARP4754 as a typical framework
Confirm product design performance, capability, and reliability through hands-on engineering testing in product test laboratories
Collaborate closely with internal systems and software engineering teams to analyze system behavior and conduct engineering investigations on electronic products
Support system integration activities and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to seamlessly integrate power distribution product designs into Chapter 24aircraftelectrical systems
Participate in and present technical content at internal and external design and program review boards
Engage with customers and program stakeholders to ensure system-level solutions align with technical, operational, and certification requirements
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Prior experience in systems engineering and verification testing
Qualifications We Prefer
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an integrated product development team
Life-cycle engineering experience, including requirements analysis, system design, system integration, and verification in integration laboratories
Familiarity withaircraftcertification standards and practices related to system safety and reliability (e.g., ARP4754, ARP4761, FAR/JAR) and understanding ofaircraftelectrical system architecture
Experience using DOORS or similar requirements management software
Knowledge of RTCA, FAA, ARINC, MIL, and ISO specifications relevant to aerospace systems
Experience in electrical sub-systems development, including Chapter 24 systems,aircraftutilities,andpower distribution units
Experience developing engineering task estimates and providing input for project planning
Proficiencyin scripting and coding for engineering applications
Experience using MATLAB and Simulink for system modeling, simulation, and analysis

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
