Job Overview

Create an exceptional customer experience through outstanding service and help build a safe, clean environment that keeps our customers coming back. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profitability goals, while ensuring that quality assurance standards are met. Collaborate with the Deli / Bakery Merchandising team to foster an inviting atmosphere for our customers, all while embodying the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge of cheese products to effectively respond to customer inquiries and make product recommendations.
• Provide product samples to encourage customers to explore new cheeses and offerings.
• Communicate current specials in the Cheese Shop to enhance customer engagement.
• Ensure customers receive fresh products in the correct portion sizes.
• Accurately measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following established recipes.
• Properly prepare, package, label, and manage inventory of ingredients.
• Check product quality regularly to ensure freshness, and take appropriate actions when needed.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise efficiently.
• Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout to assist customers in finding products swiftly.
• Stay up-to-date with promotional materials and seasonal specials.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions and report any issues.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines in all operations.
• Maintain appropriate temperatures in display cases and coolers, keeping log records updated.
• Support safety programs by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify maintenance needs and alert management.
• Promptly report customer or employee accidents to management.
• Report safety risks or illegal activities, including theft or fraud, to store management.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced and often stressful environment.
• Handle conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
