Drug Manufacturing Technician

Job Description:

The position of Sorter is within Toxicology located at Richmond, Va at Alere Toxicology Services In this role, the individual will be responsible for receiving and sorting specimens in accordance with the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations RESPONSIBILITIES: ·Receive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis · Sort specimens into bins and transfer to the departments · Process courier deliveries and store in designated areas · Inspect all trash bags once sorting process is completed to ensure sample and document removal · Maintain cleanliness of the Warehouse Accessioning area · Assist with freezer cleanout and destruction of specimens · Review and document acceptability of specimen and chain of custody forms · Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information · Must comply with company policy

Requirement:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION: · High school Diploma or GED preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: COMPETENCIES: · Basic ability to understand laboratory technique and procedures · Basic ability to communicate ideas · Basic ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds · Ability to have full body movement · Must have vision and hearing corrected to meet minimum acceptable norms MENTAL/REASONING REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to cope with stress due to production obligations · Ability to read and comprehend the SOP, Federal (49 CFR Part 40) and CAP-FUDT guidelines · Ability to communicate with other employees and supervisors · Ability to provide input and recommendations on operations WORK ENVIRONMENT: · Climate-controlled office and testing laboratory environment · Must be able to work in a refrigerated and -20degree freezer area for storing and removing samples · Must be able to climb stairs · May be potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials
