Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with neuro and telemetry experience and required Indiana or compact licensure.
Responsibilities
Work in a mixed acuity hospital PCU unit caring for both medical-surgical and progressive care patientsPatient population includes oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and post-procedure casesTypical ratios : Med / Surg patients 1 : 5-6, PCU patients 1 : 3-4Experience with drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, and insulin is requiredCare for post-heart cath and post-pacemaker patients, unstable strokes, and BiPap casesCerner EMR is used and experience with Cerner is requiredNight shift (4x12 hours, 18 : 00-6 : 30), with potential rotations to 3x12 as neededAll travelers required to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitalsScrub color requirement : red top and black bottomsProvide nursing care for patients requiring progressive care and telemetry monitoringMust be able to independently manage complex drip protocols and post-procedure careFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCandidates must work two out of three major holidaysUp to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approvedFree parking is providedRequirements
Active IN or Compact RN license or IN temporary license in hand before start dateACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required and must be currentMinimum of 18 months to 2 years of relevant clinical experience requiredSolid neuro and telemetry nursing experience requiredGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing programExperience with Cerner EMR requiredNo local candidates are accepted for this positionAny previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a travelerBenefits
