HYBRID POSITION
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our growing nurse case management team specializing in personal injury cases. The Nurse Case Manager plays a critical role in coordinating patient care, supporting recovery, and serving as a liaison between injured patients, healthcare providers, insurance adjusters, and legal professionals.
While prior case management experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient advocacy.
The Nurse Case Manager will attend patient appointments as needed and oversee the coordination of all aspects of medical care, including physical therapy, pain management, diagnostic services, specialty referrals (such as neurology), and transportation. This role also involves timely collection, review, and submission of appropriate medical records and documentation to insurance adjusters and attorneys to ensure continuity of care and case progression.
This position is ideal for an RN who is proactive, organized, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage medical care for patients involved in automobile-related injury cases / personal injury patients
- Attend patient medical appointments as needed to observe, advocate, and document care
- Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, insurance adjusters, and attorneys
- Coordinate services including physical therapy, pain management, diagnostic testing, neurology, and other specialty care
- Arrange transportation and assist with scheduling medical appointments
- Obtain, review, and organize medical records, reports, and treatment plans
- Prepare and submit accurate medical documentation and records to insurance adjusters and attorneys in a timely manner
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to appropriate parties
- Educate patients on treatment plans, follow-up care, and compliance expectations
- Identify barriers to care and proactively work to resolve issues impacting treatment
- Maintain detailed, organized case notes and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulations
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) Michigan license in good standingBachelor’s degree in NursingPrevious experience in case management, workers’ compensation, auto injury, personal injury preferred but not requiredStrong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, insurance adjusters, and attorneysHighly organized with strong attention to detail and time-management skillsAbility to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload independentlyComfortable attending medical appointments and working in a field-based or hybrid environmentProficient in electronic medical records (EMR), documentation systems, and basic computer applicationsKnowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standardsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationProfessional demeanor with strong patient advocacy and customer service skillsWillingness to learn case management processes and industry-specific requirements
