Courier

The Courier is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting specimens between Aegis clients and Aegis laboratory, ensuring timely and accurate delivery in accordance with company standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform courier services between Aegis, Aegis clients and shipping vendors as directed. This includes the following duties:
  • Provide internal courier services, including pick-up and delivery of interoffice and external mail, packages, supplies, specimens/aliquots, etc.
  • Pick up specimens at designated vendor locations and deliver to the laboratory at Aegis (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.)
  • Pick up specimens from Aegis clients on established courier route during scheduled times
  • Perform on-call pick-ups from client sites as requested
  • Deliver supplies to client sites when necessary
  • Maintain accurate daily route logs to document specimen/package count as well as laboratory drop off times
  • Maintain knowledge of various specimen types, their appropriate storage conditions during transport, and any designated laboratory drop-off locations.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership regarding any non-productive stops and potential opportunities for improvement in the pickup schedule.
• Ensure that the Aegis vehicle is clean and well-maintained through regular maintenance, including but not limited to oil changes, purchasing gas, etc.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Aegis clients, RSMs and vendors with a strong attention to Aegis company values, professionalism, safety, customer service and kindness.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license required (must meet insurability requirements)
• Previous Courier or company driving experience strongly preferred
• Previous experience in a client services environment strongly preferred
• Proficiency in smart phone and GPS usage is strongly preferred
