Role Overview

Join a nationally recognized Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Patent Prosecution team-rated among the top in IP litigation and patent work nationally. Interested candidates must possess a high level of academic achievement, solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, and superb writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications across electrical engineering and software domains.
  • Work on projects in machine learning / artificial intelligence, neural networks, RF circuitry, encryption / decryption, hardware and communications security.
  • Collaborate with engineers, innovators, and legal teams to tailor strategies for high-tech inventions.

Qualifications

  • J.D., active bar admission (in your intended jurisdiction), and USPTO registration.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, physics, or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience in electrical / software technologies.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, exceptional academic credentials.

  • Open to Atlanta, Denver, Houston, St. Louis, Kansas City, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.
  • Hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 2-3 days / week in office (occasional exceptions possible for strong patent agents ).
