Job Summary

The Certified Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist) is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy treatment programs as prescribed by a licensed physician. This role provides specialized hand therapy services to patients across the lifespan in both inpatient and outpatient settings while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Provide specialized hand therapy interventions in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Deliver age-appropriate, patient-centered care across diverse populations
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary care teams, patients, and families
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and program development
• Comply with infection control standards, safety policies, and equipment training
• Demonstrate effective resource utilization to support operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Active Florida Occupational Therapy License
• 1–2 years of Hand Therapy experience required
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
