Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring DC licensure, ACLS, and recent ICU travel experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU of a short term acute care teaching hospital
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 2 in a 402-bed facility
  • Scheduling is three 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00-07 : 00), with weekends included in the rotation
  • Required to float to units with equivalent or lower acuity
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Must be comfortable floating to comparable or lower acuity units as needed
  • Flu vaccination is required for all staff
  • Scrub attire must be any solid color without hospital logos; scrubs are not provided
  • Applicants within 60 miles are accepted at a local rate
  • RTO must not exceed 8 days per contract and should be scheduled to allow 36 hours / week
  • Nurses with prior employment must be separated by at least one year to return as a traveler
  • Completion of online modules is required before start and during orientation
  • Manager interview may not be part of the process

  • Active DC RN license in hand or proof of DC license application prior to consideration, with license required by start date
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIH certification required; CCRN preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience, including telemetry, ventilator management, and peripheral IV starts; ICP experience preferred
  • At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
  • Two recent supervisor references required
