This designation reflects the companys commitment to hiring and supporting active-duty and veteran employees. / ph3Responsibilities / h3pThis effort provides Operations and Maintenance (OM) of mission-critical IT systems for the Department of State, Consular Affairs (CA), supporting 10,000 users across 230 overseas posts, 29 domestic passport agencies, and multiple data centers. / ppThe Engineering and Implementation Manager (EIM) is responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering projects and shall provide engineering services for physical and virtual hosting / operating environments for all CA systems, both domestically and abroad. The EIM will manage multiple projects simultaneously with a mix of matrixed teams and the EIM Team (est. 10 technicians). / ppResponsibilities include : / pulliResponsible for the day-to-day EI operations in the CA EOC. / liliResponsible for the training, staffing, and operational efficiency of the EIM Team. / liliCollaborate with Engineers, Project and Product Managers to implement functionality. / liliAbility to meet deadlines and satisfy requirements from other Engineers and Project Management / liliEngineering and design services shall cover physical and virtual Windows and UNIX / Linux Server platforms, as well as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, SW-defined infrastructure as cloud service transition within CA. / liliPlays a critical role in the strategic planning of the infrastructure and building a resilient architecture. / liliProvides the coordination between resource managers / supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received. / liliMay conduct performance / project analyses during phase-down to benefit future / other projects / missions / programs. / liliCommunicate effectively and efficiently across all CA stakeholders including with the business, technical teams, and leaders. / liliTake technical ownership of tasks and successfully work independently. / liliPerforms related duties as assigned. / li / ulh3Qualifications / h3pRequired : / pulliBA / BS in information technology or related discipline or equivalent experience. / liliA minimum of 5-10 years of experience managing and leading a large engineering and operations staff with skills applicable to a large global enterprise environment. / liliDemonstrated experience managing the implementation of technical and process changes in a highly complex infrastructure environment similar to this task. environment and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as architects, development leads, and operations personnel to gather technical requirements and business needs to design and provision infrastructure capabilities. / liliDemonstrated experience providing leadership for prioritizing, planning, and successfully delivering multiple projects in parallel and in cooperation with a production environment. / liliExperience managing the transition of systems / applications into a cloud environment. / liliPossesses a Top Secret clearance. / li / ulpPreferred : / pulliDemonstrated experience with introducing new technologies and processes to improve service delivery such as availability, management, monitoring, support, patching, and scalability. / liliPossesses an ITIL Intermediate Level Certification (or higher). / liliPossesses a CompTIA Security+ certification. / liliPossesses a PMP. / li / ulpWork Environment : / pulliMay require occasional travel between work centers or to client sites. / liliSome after-hours or on-call support may be necessary. / liliOn-site work in a secure government or contractor facility. / liliMust be able to work in a high-security environment and comply with all relevant security protocols. / liliStanding for long periods. / liliAmbulate throughout an office. / liliAmbulate between several buildings. / liliStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required. / liliRepeatedly lift and carry weight up to 30 pounds. / liliTravel by land or air transportation 5% / li / ulh3About Empower AI / h3pAll hiring and promotion decisions at Empower AI are based on merit to bring the best talent available to contribute to our firms overall success.
