[job_card.job_description]Work in an acute care hospital float pool covering Med / Surg and Telemetry units Float to various units including 6N (36 beds), 7N (29 beds), 4N, 5S, 6S, and Critical Care Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5-6, may occasionally be 1 : 7 depending on acuity Patient population includes CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, ortho, and oncology 12-hour shifts, primarily worked every other weekend on days (Sat / Sun) Uses Epic EMR system Care involves basic telemetry monitoring; must be able to read and interpret strips Will not be required to titrate drips Royal blue scrubs required Float assignments determined by unit needs; travelers may be assigned a parent unit and will remain within their scope of practice 1-2 shifts of unit orientation with a preceptor provided Work environment staffed with CNAs and 24 / 7 charge nurse presence Holiday coverage is required as part of the regular staff rotation First-time travelers are accepted for this position Candidates with prior employment at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year break before being considered Active WV or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in acute care Ability to pass a cardiac rhythm / EKG exam required Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac strips necessary Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; no local travelers accepted Submission must include a copy of an unexpired Driver's License High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
