Accounting Operations & Bookkeeping Manager

About the Role :
Fast-growing accounting and consulting firm seeks a leader for a remote accounting operations team. You'll oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly financial reporting, workflow management (AP, AR, accruals, prepaids), and audit readiness across a multi-client portfolio. The role includes coaching staff, ensuring accurate closes, and delivering review-ready financials, with opportunities for growth, bonus, and career development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 8-10 accountants / bookkeepers across multiple locations.
- Oversee monthly close, AP / AR, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and financial reporting for a multi-client portfolio.
- Manage workflow using Keeper or similar tools; ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
- Act as primary client contact, resolving issues and maintaining strong communication.
- Review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules before release.
- Support audit preparation and coordinate PBC lists.
- Identify process improvements and implement standardization and automation.
- Oversee staffing, capacity planning, cross-training, and hiring needs as the team grows.
