Acquisition Support Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Acquisition Support Specialist to join the US Space Force located in El Segundo, CAthrough % full onsite presence. The Acquisition Support Specialist will provide expert acquisition & program management support for space-based weapon systems across their full lifecycle - from strategy to rapid fielding. Help shape the future of space defense by guiding cutting-edge weapon systems through the full acquisition lifecycle for the US Space Force.

Responsibilities of the Acquisition Support Specialist include:

• Advise program & project managers on acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting, and execution across space-based weapon systems
• Develop & coordinate acquisition documentation, including plans, schedules, and executive briefings aligned with DODI 0. & rapid prototyping policies
• Assess contractor performance during design & milestone reviews to identify risks, issues & mission alignment
• Support program funding activities, including drafting financial documentation, tracking commitments, & preparing monthly reports
• Facilitate program planning & execution, including staff meetings, technical interchange meetings & cross-functional coordination
• Enable rapid fielding of capabilities by assisting government customers throughout the full lifecycle of systems acquisition

Qualifications of the Acquisition Support Specialist include:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related discipline (Master’s preferred in business, technical management, or engineering)
• + years of experience in DoD weapons systems acquisition, program management, or contracts management
• Expertise in key DoD processes, including Major Capability Acquisition, JCIDS, and PPBE
• Strong understanding of acquisition frameworks, including DoDI 0. and rapid prototyping policies
• Active Top Secret security clearance
• Experience in National Security Space or Space Control mission areas (preferred)
• Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent (preferred)

Compensation for the Acquisition Support Specialist includes:
