Overnight EMT/Behavioral Health Technician

Forward Recovery in West Los Angeles is currently seeking qualified EMT's OR RADTs to join our detox/residential team! Treatment experience preferred but not mandatory. Job duties include primarily assisting the nursing department with the following duties:

• Performing new intake assessments (knowledge of COWS AND CIWA IS A PLUS).
• Observation, documentation, audit functions, and record keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications.
• Assessment of patients with addiction and mental health conditions, and assisting in ascertaining clinical medication management with Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Director.
• Administering Meds and taking vitals.
• Monitor self-administration of client taking medications by oral, sublingual and inhalation routes and documenting appropriately.
• Inputting medication refills and new medication orders to the medical department.
• Manages complete Medication Administration Record Sheets and system.
• Provides direct patient care to a diversified patient population, across continuum of care.
• Collaborates with staff in assessing patient, family age-specific nursing needs and develops plan of care for complex high-risk patients.
• Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to staff in program implementation.
• Work closely with Clinical Director to provide education and counseling for clients and other organizational health care providers on optimal use of medicines (e.g., proper use, avoidance of over medication).
• Provide nursing care adapted to the individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct patient care, including the reporting of observed changes in mental status and/or physical condition, response to emergencies, safety risks
