Operator Job Post

The Operator operates machines and / or equipment at a recyclery, landfill, or transfer station. Principal responsibilities include performing pre-operation and post-operation inspection of the equipment, operating equipment including excavator, compactor, bulldozer, forklift, front end loader and other equipment, monitoring waste for signs of unacceptable waste, following all safety policies and procedures, continuously monitoring the equipment to ensure proper operation and minimal downtime, cleaning tracks or wheels on equipment, performing and documenting minor service on equipment, completing equipment condition report and reporting any necessary repairs to supervisor and / or Maintenance Shop, ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned, serviced and stored at the end of each shift, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications include valid certificate(s) of training, as required, for use of equipment. Minimum requirements include two years of experience in equipment operation.
