- Perform full-cycle troubleshooting : observe equipment in operation, pinpoint root causes, disassemble / repair, adjust instruments and controls, and validate with electrical and mechanical tests.
- Restore and recondition machine tools when required.
- Find and procure parts and supplies; weigh alternatives to enhance reliability and control costs.
- Partner with client teams to enhance maintenance strategies, reliability practices, and PM procedures.
- Step into machining and welding as needed using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and related tools.
- Keep precise records : service reports, CMMS / management system updates, and clear write-ups of observations and performance data.
- Resolve complex PLC / controls issues involving software, hardware, and configuration.
- Use advanced maintenance technologies to collect performance data, monitor trends, and suggest improvements.
- Support team growth—mentor less experienced techs and contribute expert input to project teams and training.

Clear verbal communication and hearing are essential in noisy environments; some tasks involve sitting. You may occasionally lift or move objects weighing more than 50 pounds. Close and color vision are regularly needed. Expect occasional outdoor exposure and the potential for electrical shock. Factory settings are commonly very loud and can include hazardous materials and greasy or slippery floors.
