About the Position

LocumJobsNetwork is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Psychiatry MD in Indiana!

We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for a 260-day locum tenens assignment in Indiana, starting Jan 5, 2026. This role features day shifts, Monday through Friday, and requires comfort with a brisk patient volume and a diverse caseload across all ages, with a focus on adults. Experience with Smart Care EMR is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a daily caseload of 10 to 14 patients, serving all age groups (approximately 70% adults, 30% younger patients)
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and handle new patient referrals
  • Review patient histories and symptoms; perform Mental Status Exams
  • Oversee medication management and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and care plans
  • Assess and respond to crisis situations, including suicide risk assessments
  • Navigate multiple scenarios in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Utilize Smart Care EMR and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft programs

    • Additional Information

  • Indiana medical license and board certification in Psychiatry required
  • Must be comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Prior experience working with both adult and younger patient populations is preferred
  • Team includes Psych NPs and Psychiatrists
