Assisting an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company in hiring a Fleet Support Engineer who will actively contribute to the operational uptime of the company's fleet.

In this role, you'll diagnose complex hardware/software-related issues, interface with cross-functional engineering teams to drive resolution, capture the troubleshooting details, and place them in the internal knowledge database. This role will require flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed with advanced notice.

We are looking for someone who has a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles). Ideally, you have experience with electric vehicle technology and remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting.

All candidates will need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Automotive Engineering. This is a hard requirement for the hiring manager.

As a Fleet Support Engineer, you'll:

  • Act as point of contact for real-time escalation from technicians on fleet issues.
  • Document, amend, and maintain a troubleshooting guide for all technicians to use as faults are diagnosed or resolved.
  • Establish diagnostic procedures to expedite troubleshooting in the future.
  • Provide historical review of vehicle/fleet data, parsing/interpreting vehicle logs and their physical implications.
  • Work with engineering design to improve tooling and detection of issues.
  • Work to implement effective countermeasures across the fleet.
  • Define/capture required data points to validate issue resolution.
  • Occasionally travel within the U.S. to support various operational locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for real-time escalations for sensor-related fleet issues.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis through comprehensive log review to identify and resolve fleet issues.
  • Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for technicians, incorporating newly diagnosed faults and their resolutions.
  • Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new sensor components (LiDAR, radar, cameras, etc.).
  • Design and implement diagnostic procedures to streamline future troubleshooting processes, with a focus on sensor calibration and data integrity.
  • Historical review of vehicle/fleet data, including sensor data, identifying trends and issues. Collaborate with engineering design teams to enhance tooling and improve issue detection capabilities.
  • Develop and implement effective countermeasures across the fleet to prevent recurring issues.
  • Define and capture essential data points to validate issue resolution and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement in vehicle performance and reliability.
  • Availability for overtime as needed, with advanced notice provided. Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. to support various operational locations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a specific focus on perception systems and sensors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with low/high voltage circuits, Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS), and how to safely troubleshoot.
  • Understanding of hardware and software systems architecture, communications to support in an operations setting. Embraces a holistic problem-solving approach to identifying issues with high-level vehicle functions and drive specific resolution into single components.
  • Self-starter, ability to build relationships across the company.
  • Ability to comprehend schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views/pinout.
  • Pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electric vehicle technology.
  • Experience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics tools.
  • Experience with Linux & Python-based programming systems for fleet-level data processing.
  • Experience with software that interfaces with hardware. Familiarity with networking, TCP, and socket programming.

Work Schedule:

CURRENT: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

PAST: Standard business hours with need to flex nights/weekends as needed with advanced notice
