Yard Worker

The Yard worker is responsible for maintaining the property and equipment at various locations of the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Checks equipment in or out as needed
• Verifies that equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon being taken out or being returned
• Responsible for red tagging equipment that needs repair
• Assists drivers with loading/unloading as necessary
• Ensure checks to verify stock levels for reordering are accurate as possible
• Get material out ready for the issuing job
• Preload all trucks scheduled for delivery the next day
• Other duties as required

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to use basic tools
• Knowledge of construction materials
• Effective communication and listening skills
• Attention to detail, highly organized, self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks

Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 Years related yard experience
• Forklift and Loader experience
• Days and Hours - Monday through Friday; 6am to 4pm

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work outdoors subject to inclement weather (heat/cold) year round
• The ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, push, pull, climb and be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds
