Civil Engineer

We are currently searching for an experienced Civil Engineer to support ourMidwest regionlocated in Dayton, OH.

To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, construct, and maintain infrastructure projects (bridges, roads, tunnels, water/sewage systems)
• Develop roadway design components: typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage analysis, traffic plans
• Produce construction documents: drafting, computations, specifications, cost estimates
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and use advanced design software to solve complex challenges
• Manage project schedules and maintain client communication
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team growth

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 0 – 6 years in civil engineering
• Registered PE in Ohio (required)
• Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of local municipalities, funding sources, public infrastructure, and traffic systems
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
• Valid driver’s license
• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
