THE OPPORTUNITY We're looking for a backend focused Sr. Software Engineer to join our Boulder-based team and help build the infrastructure powering our privacy first, data-driven platform. This role blends distributed systems engineering and cloud-native development in a high-impact environment. You'll design scalable systems to process, transform, and query large volumes of anonymized healthcare data. You'll also design systems to drive insights and power downstream applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.

• Architect distributed systems using AWS services like EKS, EMR, S3 and Athena.
• Deploy ML models in engineering pipelines.
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines and secure data-sharing workflows using Spark.
• Deploy and manage containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and manage infrastructure-as-code.
• Work with large-scale datasets using advanced SQL for analytics, reporting, and data product features.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability in a production environment.
