Experience : Minimum of 18 months of Med / Tele RN experience required.

License : Required RN license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

General Med / Tele skill set, including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain / tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion / management), PCA pump management, medication drip management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.

Description :

Seeking a Registered Nurse for MedSurg / Tele specialty.

The unit has 10 beds with an average daily census of 8 patients.

Patient types commonly include chest pain, syncope, and angina.

Ratios are RN : 1 : 5 and CNA : 1 : 10.

Supervisory support includes a charge RN and resource RN for admissions / discharges.

RT services are available 24 / 7.

Hospitalist services are also available around the clock.

Phlebotomy is a combined effort between RNs and the IV team.

Technology includes EMR systems and IV pumps.

Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice.

Travelers will be compensated for travel time between facilities if floating mid-shift.

Scheduling includes weekend rotations every other week and holiday expectations that travelers will work 75% of holidays.

RTO can be approved for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with time added to the contract if not met.

The department has a great team environment with activities such as a unit book club and Netflix watching clubs.
