Job Description

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for shaping and delivering DutchCrafters' messaging, communications, and public presence across digital, print, and in store channels. This role owns brand voice, messaging consistency, and communication strategy while partnering closely with the Content Creation Specialist to bring campaigns and stories to life. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader who can balance planning with execution. This position reports to the Marketing and Marketplace Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

Brand Voice and Messaging Leadership

• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the brand's voice, tone, and messaging to ensure clarity and consistency across all marketing communications.
• Serve as a steward of brand messaging, ensuring all outward facing content aligns with brand values and business goals.
• Provide clear messaging direction and campaign briefs to guide content creation across channels.

Marketing Communications and Campaign Planning

• Plan and execute integrated marketing communications across social media, email, web, PR, and events.
• Develop content calendars and communication plans aligned with promotional priorities and seasonal initiatives.
• Write and edit marketing copy for emails, campaigns, web content, advertising, press releases, and internal communications as needed.
• Collaborate with the Content Creation Specialist early in campaign planning to ensure creative execution aligns with messaging goals.

Social Media and Online Reputation Management

• Oversee social media strategy and content planning across Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
• Guide engagement strategy and community management, including response standards for comments and reviews.
• Identify opportunities for audience growth, engagement, and storytelling across social platforms.
• Coordinate internal contributors and partnerships to support social content initiatives.

Public Relations and External Communications

• Develop and manage PR strategy, including press releases, media outreach, and relationship building.
• Pitch stories and manage media inquiries in alignment with brand positioning.
• Track and report on press placements, awards, and PR activity.
• Oversee scholarship programs, awards submissions, and showroom recognition initiatives.

Email, SMS, and Marketing Automation

• Support the planning and execution of email and SMS marketing programs focused on engagement and conversion.
• Partner with internal teams to maintain healthy contact lists and segmentation practices.
• Build and optimize campaigns and workflows in HubSpot or similar platforms, with a focus on messaging effectiveness and conversion.

Marketing and Event Support

• Support marketing and promotion for showrooms, events, and local initiatives.
• Coordinate print advertising placements and relationships with media publications.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to support promotions, launches, and brand initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong editing and proofreading abilities.
• Experience managing multi-channel marketing communications.
• Comfortable working with marketing automation platforms, HubSpot experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Professional presence aligned with brand standards.

Physical Environment

This job will be performed primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment. Sitting and looking at a computer monitor for long periods of time is required.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $54,000 - $58,000 depending on the combination of education an experience.

DutchCrafters' benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance that begins on the first of the month after your first day of employment. We also offer a 401(k) plan with a company match, 18 PTO days after 90 days of employment, and a generous employee discount.

Hours

The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm.
