Interns play a vital role at BHSI by bringing fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. As an Information Technology Intern, you will gain exposure to enterprise systems that support policy administration, claims processing, and billing. BHSI IT interns work with modern technologies such as cloud platforms, databases, and development tools, while learning how IT enables regulatory compliance and data security. This position provides exposure to project management, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration, offering a strong foundation in both technical skills and industry knowledge.

Job Opportunity:

BHSI has exciting entry level opportunities to join our Boston office as an Information Technology Intern. During your 12-week, paid internship, you will participate in and contribute to project and operational work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals. If you have a passion for programming, project management, or analytics and data, we will identify projects to leverage these skills. In addition to learning about IT processes and how they support the Insurance Life Cycle (pricing a quote through to a claim), you will also learn about the insurance industry, and experience first-hand, the teamwork that it takes to deliver flexible, responsive solutions to our customers.

Education, Skills and Experience:

• College concentration in one of the STEM disciplines or prior experience and demonstrated passion in an Information Technology role
• Analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently when needed
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills preferably from past job or volunteer experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with MS Office Applications
• All candidates must have permanent work authorization in the United States

• Experience with MS Office Applications, specifically MS Excel, including pivot tables, formulas and comparisons of data
• Strong focus, attention to detail and accuracy

The base salary range for this position in Boston is from $25/hour - $28/hour; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.
