LHH is seeking a Mechanical Solutions Engineer - Senior on behalf of a confidential defense contractor supporting Department of Defense programs at Naval Base Point Mugu near Camarillo, CA. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in digital engineering, mechanical design, and system integration. Key Responsibilities :
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering capabilities to mechanical systems
- Create mechanical designs and CAD models for payloads and assemblies
- Perform thermal and structural FEA analysis using tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL
- Select materials and design for environmental ruggedization
- Support payload integration on platforms, including mounts and harness routing
- Produce manufacturing documentation with GD&T and tolerances
- Support vibration, thermal, and environmental testing
Qualifications :
10+ years of experience as a Mechanical EngineerMinimum 5 years of mechanical design and analysis experienceProficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo)Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, COMSOL)Strong knowledge of thermal analysis, environmental qualification, materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processesAbility to work independently and communicate effectively across teamsPreferred Experience :
Reverse engineering and solutioningLine Replacement Unit, Assembly, and system-level testingSystem Safety EngineeringParticipation in system-level engineering efforts, including requirements definitionEducation :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical disciplineMS preferredSubstitution : 6 years of relevant experience may replace a bachelor's degree; 4 years with an associate degreeAdditional Requirements :
U.S. Citizenship requiredActive DoD Secret ClearanceMust be able to work onsite and support secure laboratory accessCompensation : Annual salary range : $120,000 - $200,000 , based on qualifications, experience, and location.
