Job Title: Automation Solutions Architect Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa Experience: 12+ Years Employment Type: Contract Interview Type: In-Person or Webcam Job Description We are looking for an experienced Automation Solutions Architect who can design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level automation solutions across complex environments. This role requires someone with deep technical expertise in automation frameworks, hands-on experience with tools such as RPA platforms, workflow engines, scripting technologies, and integration systems, along with the ability to define automation strategies that align with business goals. You will work closely with stakeholders, business teams, engineering groups, and operations teams to identify automation opportunities, create scalable architectures, and lead the development of secure, stable, and efficient automation solutions. The ideal candidate should be capable of bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution while ensuring industry-standard best practices. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and architecture of automation solutions across applications, processes, and systems. Evaluate business processes and identify automation opportunities using RPA, scripting, orchestration tools, and workflow platforms. Create technical architecture documents, solution blueprints, and automation roadmaps. Provide guidance and oversight to development teams to ensure solutions follow architectural standards and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional groups to define requirements, prioritize use cases, and align automation efforts with business outcomes. Oversee the integration of automation tools with enterprise systems, APIs, and data platforms. Conduct assessments of existing automation solutions and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and maintainability. Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and governance standards. Troubleshoot complex automation issues and provide strategic technical leadership. Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending new technologies, tools, and methodologies. Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum 12 years of overall experience, with strong focus on automation architecture and solution design. Extensive hands-on experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar tools. Strong understanding of workflow automation, process orchestration, and integration frameworks. Solid background in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Experience designing API-driven integrations and working with REST, SOAP, and event-driven architectures. Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control systems. Experience implementing automation at scale within enterprise environments. Ability to create architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and process documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation workflows. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in Agile environments and delivering automation solutions iteratively.
