Lead Engineer, Performance

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Engine Performance who will execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components, assemblies, and systems integration using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements. This includes evaluation of the thermodynamic effects of the overall system of components and assemblies.

What You'll Do...

• Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of a thermodynamic cycle for an aviation engine using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements. This includes setting performance cycle design points and requirements for each module in the engine and providing customer quotes and guarantees.
• Experience with creating thermodynamic models in NPSS and using those models to drive the design and development of an aviation gas turbine. Experience completing and supporting operability and transient analysis in conjunction with engine performance.
• Lead engine system or component test programs from a performance, operability, and transient perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to validate the engine design
• Serve as the performance design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure the engine meets overall performance, operability, and transient requirements from a design perspective. Coordinate with mechanical and aero engineers to optimize the overall engine cycle.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $134,649-$194,494 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
