Do you have a passion for safety while working in a team-oriented environment? Grand Canyon University's Facilities Services Department is seeking a full?time Electrician Apprentice. The Electrician Apprentice provides support and assistance to one or more skilled electricians. General work assisting the electrician includes site preparation and clearance and maintaining general site tidiness, as directed by the electrician. Assist with the installation, maintenance, modification and repair of all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.

Pay : $14.50

Duration : 46 months.

What you will do

• Assist with the inspection and testing of electrical components and systems including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.
• Help diagnose, repair, assemble and install various electrical components and systems.
• Interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Use a variety of tools and techniques to complete electrical tasks.
• Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
• Obtain price quotations on materials needed; submit purchasing orders for approval.
• Utilize work order system to record detailed handling of scheduled assignment including hours needed to complete assignment.
• Perform work at various heights, from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas. Fall protection safety training and equipment, if required, will be provided.
• Ability to positively identify colors of wires.
• Observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods as required.
• Wear the provided personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Including hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, dust masks, respirators, etc.
