Pride Health is seeking a Medical Lab Technician II to join the team at in Charleston, SC 29401 . This is a 12-week travel opportunity as a Generalist – Blood Bank. Job Summary This role is responsible for independently performing moderate-to-high complexity testing across multiple disciplines, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant results while maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Technical Testing: Perform laboratory analyses, quality control, and proficiency testing per SOP and CAP standards. Verify specimen integrity, prioritize work, evaluate and interpret data, and document results. Assist with evaluation and implementation of new methods. Instrumentation: Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment. Document all QC and maintenance per policy. Information Handling: Utilize Cerner/STAR LIS for test ordering, receiving, result verification, and pending test follow-up. Maintain patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance. Communication & Customer Service: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, laboratory staff, and patients. Provide timely updates and maintain professional rapport. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to hospital and laboratory policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations. Participate in continuing education and department performance improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Certification: ASCP or NCA registration – Required Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent with ASCP/NCA eligibility. Alternate route to certification per ASCP or NCA accepted. Experience: Minimum of 3 yrs of Micro experience is required. Cerner LIS experience required. Skilled in phlebotomy. Skills: Ability to operate laboratory instrumentation, perform patient phlebotomy, and make informed decisions under pressure. Additional Information: Location: Charleston, SC 29401 Schedule: 6:30am-3pm M-F, every other weekend. , 40 hrs/week Contract Length: 12 weeks Pay Rate: $45 - $51/hour *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
