Cath Lab Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an experienced Nurse to support patient care in our Cath Lab and CICU

Schedule: 3x12 or 4x10 shifts per week Monday-Friday. Unit covers hours: 6.30am-7pm

Registered Nurse will provide critical care support to patients during Cath Lab procedures: particularly focused on high risk and high acuity cardiac patients undergoing complex procedures including atherectomy, balloon angioplasty, balloon valvuloplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary stenting, septal closure devices, thrombectomy and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).

The RN ensures safe transitions of care between the Cath Lab and the CICU.

CVIR Qualifications:

• Requires minimum 1 year (RN) nursing experience.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification issued by the AHA is required at start.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred CVIR Qualifications:

• 2+ years CICU nursing experience to include competency in managing patients with IABP, Impella, VV/VA ECMO.
