Group Fitness Instructor

JOB TITLE: Fitness Instructor (contractual)

DEPARTMENT: Athletic

REPORTS TO: Fitness Director

REQUIREMENTS:

· Current Fitness Certification (Including but not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Insanity, Cross Fit, Barre, Water Aerobics, TRX, Spinning, Zumba, etc.)
·Current CPR Certification

JOB SUMMARY

Assist with all Group Fitness Programming operations of the Athletic Department in such a manner to ensure the highest level of success.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Leaddynamic group fitness classes with excellent instruction, providing appropriate modifications to accommodate all fitness levels and limitations.

·Actively build rapport and client relationships by greeting all members, addressing them by name, and introducing yourself to new attendees.

·Assist in promoting Athletic Department events, activities, and programs to members.

·Assures that member service standards are consistently attained pertaining to members and guests.

·Provide daily attendance report including amount of members in attendance for each class taught.

·Provide complete biography of his/herself, availability, and continuing education throughout the year.

·Respond effectively to emergencies, completing all necessary incident report paperwork promptly and accurately.

·Fitness instructors will take part in continuing education; this is done by attending selected seminars and training classes.

·Fitness Instructors refer to clients by their name and introduce themselves to all new members attending class. They will ask them about their fitness experience and limitations for the purpose of providing proper modifications.

·Fitness Instructors will be evaluated quarterly and make goals post evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.

·Fitness Instructors will keep the fitness studio or designated teaching area clean by wiping down equipment after clients use them.

·Conduct regular inspections and recommend maintenance, repair, and upkeep for the Fitness Studio, equipment, and other relevant club areas (, fitness center, locker rooms).

·Leadership by example, displayed in work and attitude.
