As a Patient Care Specialist I, you will be an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team providing direct care to patients in a residential addiction recovery environment. This role focuses on continuous patient supervision, engagement, and support while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic setting throughout treatment.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word)
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and ability to meet insurance requirements
- Ability to transport patients locally as needed (up to 10%; no overnight travel required)
- CPR and MANDT certification (training provided and maintained as required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Six (6) months of experience working in a behavioral healthcare or substance use treatment setting
- Basic knowledge of addiction and the recovery process
Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety and wellbeing by maintaining a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment
- Provide continuous patient supervision, interaction, and care
- Serve as a resource for new patients by providing orientation, introductions, and encouragement to participate in programming
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and positive communication with patients and teammates
- Apply de‑escalation techniques, active listening, appropriate boundaries, and positive reinforcement
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining facility safety and security in collaboration with teammates
- Conduct safety checks in accordance with individualized supervision guidelines (e.g., 15‑minute or hourly checks)
- Document patient observations and interactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with appropriate team members as needed
- Assist with identification of AMA risk and intervention efforts
- Participate actively as a member of the treatment team
- Perform other duties as assigned
