Swim Lesson Instructor

VENT Fitness Guilderland is looking for happy individuals to join our team. We have immediate openings and are looking for positive, enthusiastic Swim Instructors. We offer flexible schedules and a fun and friendly atmosphere.

About You :

  • Energetic and enjoy working with children
  • Willing to learn

Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain safety in the pools and surrounding pool areas.
  • Provides swim instruction to individuals of all abilities
  • Evaluates students' progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Interacts with parents / guardians on the activities and development of students' swim skills.
  • Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours and work schedules.
  • Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence in communicating with EMS.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications :

    High School diploma or GED preferred.

    Minimum 2 years of experience as a lifeguard preferred.

    CPR / AED certification required within 60 days of hire.

    Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization required.

    Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.

    Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
