Tech I, Lab (Phlebotomist CPT I)

Laboratory Job

Clinical care delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice. The laboratory job family performs services where blood, bodily fluids, or other tissue samples are taken for diagnostic testing to determine the appropriate plan of care. Requires certification.

Responsibilities

• The phlebotomist / lab tech performs patient blood draws and computer entry of test orders
• Works effectively with physicians and lab personnel to troubleshoot problems and maintain laboratory efficiency
• Maintains inventory and ordering of lab supplies
• Processes samples after blood draw, helps maintain equipment
