The Warehouse Worker will play a crucial role in shipping products, including weighing them to determine shipping needs, cutting packing materials to specification, crimping bags, and counting parts for shipment. The role requires a strong ability to use a computer and perform light computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and ship products accurately by weighing and counting parts.
• Cut packing materials to specified sizes and crimp bags to close.
• Perform accurate counts and maintain inventory records.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Use a tape measure effectively.
• Remain on feet for the entire shift and wear steel-toed shoes.

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and packaging.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including carpentry skills.
• Ability to use chop saws, table saws, nail guns, and other woodworking tools.
• High level of experience with tape measurements.
• Experience in military or construction settings is highly beneficial.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a climate-controlled office within a warehouse setting, with a small, self-reliant team. The shift runs from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with minimal overtime and occasional weekend work. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes and appropriate clothing, excluding baggy or graphic apparel. Employees receive a swipe badge for timekeeping and will undergo an orientation on their first day. The company values independence and initiative.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
